If this is your first session with me, I will have you fill out an intake form that is sent to your email.  Please check your email!  By filling this short form out completely, it allows me to be better prepared for your massage session in the allotted time we have together.  Please let me know if you have a primary complaint and what your massage goal might be (relaxation, help shoulder pain, stress~relief).

If you aren't real familiar with massage, these definitions might help you understand a little bit more about massage therapy.

Swedish massage is also called a relaxing or classic massage utilizing five styles of long, flowing strokes to calm the mind and body.  This type of massage is beneficial to women who are stressed or feeling run down as it gives your body a chance to slow down, put things into perspective, and help you sleep.  It is also an excellent choice for those suffering from joint stiffness or muscular pain because the massage increases flexibility, reduces pain, and activates the lymph system to get rid of metabolic wastes in order for your body to heal faster.

Trigger Point Therapy is beneficial for muscles that are chronically stressed, injured, postural stress, or overworked through repetition.  Trigger points are "a small contraction knot in muscle tissue." This constant tension restricts circulation, deprives the area of oxygen and nutrients, and causes pain.  Think of pain as the messenger telling you that your body is in need of correction and relief.  Pressure is applied to the problem area to increase circulation and it interrupts the chemical and neurological feedback loop that maintains the muscle.  Muscles and joints both benefit from this type of therapy.

Aromatherapy massage blends your therapeutic massage with the healing properties of essential oils through inhalation and absorption of the skin.  The benefits of using lavender essential oil are truly remarkable and limitless from treating burns to soothing and relaxing you or your little ones.  It is one of the safest oils available and it can be applied full strength to your skin.  Peppermint oil helps with headaches and muscle fatigue.  Eucalyptus globulus acts as a decongestant and helps with respiratory ailments.
